You're a newly hired knight sent to investigate what's become of a small town. The residents have been disappearing and local witnesses describe large amounts of construction taking place.  You discover a cult has been building an underground compound, but a cave-in occurs and your only choice is to press forward. If the rumors of another copy of the Book of the Dead resurfacing it must be destroyed at all costs.

The game may be too dark on some monitors, but it is intended to be dark. Use your torch

Gameplay notes:

  • This is a very short demo/proof of concept for a dark exploration style game that that requires the player to use a light source to navigate.
  • There are no healing items in the game so be careful not to take too much damage.
  • The torch is required to finish the game, make sure to grab it during the beginning tutorial section.
  • Stamina is Dark Souls style: Actions require stamina and the player must pause their actions to regenerate stamina. Blocking prevents stamina regen.
  • There is no title or game over screen. I made the game windowed so it can easily be closed.

This is awesome! Did you use some sort of filter for the PSX look? I really enjoyed the vibe

Some of it is using this renderer https://github.com/pastasfuture/com.hauntedpsx.render-pipelines.psx. A lot is also just rendering the game at a low resolution. You can get a pretty good PSX look just by using low res textures on flat surfaces. The walls are just unity cubes with a textured scaled down in gimp. Then use a render texture to lower the game resolution to something resembling the PSX.

Nice! Gonna have to try that next time around.

hi ;; i like the aesthetic ,, we can make a collaboration if u want !!
